The online dating website SpDate.com advertises with the slogan "smart dating. Real people". It isn't apparent. It should more like smart people and real dating. But the reason why the operator wrote it this way is that this website is a rip-off.
The landing page of SpDate.com does only provide little information. We know that the registration is for free, but what comes after that. While our research, we found some reviews that describe the scam.
When the registration is complete, it will not take too long until a new member receives a lot of messages from others. Of course, a new member will assume that all other profiles show real people. But they do not, it seems that there is not one real person in the member's pool of SpDate.com.
The profiles are all fake and show fictitious people. Those fake profiles are not just created to higher the number of members, but for an exceptional purpose.
The online dating website operator calls it entertainment, as mentioned in the terms and conditions
“In addition to the preceding paragraph and other provisions of this agreement, any statement that may be posted on the service is for informational and entertainment purposes only…”
The operator is Digital International Inc., which is in Nicosia, Cyprus. As we see, already, the location of the operator is a hint that this portal is not to recommend. As it is in the terms and conditions, the website is for entertainment only.
That means that physical arrangements are not possible. SpDate.com is a rip off as the website charges money of its users but do not inform them about the fake chat. The user assumes that all profiles belong to real people and that a date in real life is possible. Because of that, a member is willing to pay money to send messages.
The fake operators do not identify themselves as a fictional person, and their profiles are not shown as such. A user gets tricked and scammed for the very start.
