At least, that’s what anyone would think at first if they saw the landing page and the domain name. The main picture on the landing page displays an elegantly dressed senior woman. Next to her is the registration form. Visitors to the site are invited to see who’s up for ‘good old dates.’ The portal is managed by Howlogic KFT, a company registered in Csomád, Hungary.

For our review, we created a basic profile without providing any details or a profile picture. We then analysed the Terms of Use to find evidence of a rip-off. The website design clearly reminded us of other similar rip-off dating sites we’ve seen in the past that were created by sketchy companies. Even the legal disclaimer was identical. The only difference is the name and address of the company. The text within the terms revealed a faulty privacy policy, a fake chat service, and deceitful cancellation terms.

For example, Infraweb Solution LTD, Alterweb KFT, and Apricot Digitals LLC may not be real. They might be white-label companies.

Unfair terms

The subscription is the trap. The website offers users a trial membership of one day for one pound. It sounds very tempting, and a great way to get to know the platform without investing too much. However, this special promotion automatically turns into a monthly subscription without any warning. The reason is that every membership must be cancelled at least 24 hours in advance to avoid automatic renewal. If your contract lasts for only a day, this condition is impossible to fulfil.
