The page MyHotSnaps.com offers free registration. However, the landing page fails to provide enough information. So, we dig a little deeper into this alleged online dating platform. It turns out that the site is a scam that lures its users with an appealing free registration offer. Once you have registered, however, you cannot chat with anybody unless you pay a consistent amount of money. The scam then lies in the automatic membership renewal which, in the case of this particular website, cannot be canceled in time.

The company which runs this platform is Norfex Holdings LTD, which also runs several other similar websites. They are all scams. This is backed up by negative user reviews. The company is headquartered in Road Town, British Virgin Islands.

At a first sight, MyHotSnaps.com seems to be the classic online dating website and a promising one at that. It offers free registration, which is key to attracting new users. Since we could not find much more information on the landing page, we decided to investigate further.  We find out that the site is run by Norfex Holdings LTD, a company with several negative reviews from people warning about the risks of rip-off.

Free registration is a rip-off

As we mentioned already, the page offers free registration. However, the user will not be allowed to start any conversation without paying for a full membership first. There are different membership options, through which the user can allegedly meet and start chatting with other people. MyHotSnaps.com offers different prices depending on the duration of the membership.

The cheapest membership offers a three-day trial and that is where the user can get scammed. Renewals are automatically renewed. Subscriptions must be canceled at least 3 days before the renewal date, which makes it extremely difficult to act in time before the next one is automatically loaded onto your card. Therefore, in our experience, this could end in a subscription rip-off.

All paid subscriptions automatically renew for the period and price that you signed up to. You may cancel the auto-renew feature to avoid recurring charges, but you must act at least 3 days (that is, 72 hours) prior to the renewal date if you subscribed via desktop application.

Negative reviews and fake chats

Once you have registered for free, you will immediately start receiving chat messages. You will not be able to answer unless you decide to pay for a membership plan. Moreover, the sites terms and conditions openly state that, even after paying a membership, the user will not know whether the person they are chatting with is a real person or a fake chat operator. This led us to look for more reviews from other MyHotSnaps.com users, which were all negative.
