Report for Lov.net review

At first glance, Lov.net seemed like it could have been the perfect online site for finding casual dates or even long-term relationships. Their motto is ‘Find, communicate and meet with like-minded people’! On the homepage, visitors have the option to choose among a few different languages before being invited to fill out a sign-up form. When we scrolled down, we saw that they apparently care about data protection and privacy. However, this review will reveal that their concern was nothing more than a façade.

After carefully reading the fine print from the cited form found below, it said that an “icebreaker system” is used. Nevertheless, we still had some serious suspicions after reading the legal section, for the website could still possibly be a fake chat service. Furthermore, we couldn’t reply to other users because the site required us to pay for a membership that would renew automatically. From our point of view, Lov.net was a subscription rip-off. Browsing the website was an irritating experience, and our personal data was at risk. The company behind the curtain is Cargo Media, from Pfäffikon, Switzerland.

Details on the Lov.net review

Now that our readers have been introduced to Lov.net with a quick overview, let’s now elaborate on some details. Firstly, the Terms and Conditions section mentions that behind every profile there is a real person, while also saying they make use of an “icebreaker system”. They also mentioned that they provide an “entertainment experience”, which contradicts the information they provided earlier.

Due to the inconsistency of the provided information, it is our obligation to blow the whistle on these types of scams. We have indeed confirmed that this so-called “dating portal” is a rip-off.

Excerpt from the GTC (as of 21/03/2023)

You understand and agree that there is no guarantee that you will find a date, partner, or activity partner, or that you will meet any of our users in person. www.lov.net’S SERVICES ARE OFFERED FOR ADULT ENTERTAINMENT PURPOSES ONLY.

www.lov.net occasionally may offer promotional trial memberships to its premium services at special discounted prices. Users that sign up for such trial memberships will be automatically renewed at the end of the trial period at the normal membership rate specified at the moment of trial subscription, unless the User cancels before the end of the trial period.

Unpleasant User Experience & Rip Off

To write a proper review, we registered on Lov.net. The user experience was far from being pleasant. When we tried interacting with the website, clicking on just about anything with would redirect us to another dating portal. This happened repeatedly, which was infuriating and left us in disarray. We had no desire to continue using this site and just desperately wanted to log out.

Unless users pay for a subscription, they cannot reply to messages. The subscription isn’t overly expensive, but subscriptions will renew on its own and users will be automatically charged to their credit card. Even if users use the trial-membership first, they aren’t safe from an automatic subscription renewal system. However, it’s possible to cancel subscriptions through email, but it would probably take some time because the operator isn’t eager to cancel subscriptions. Their objective is to rip off users by luring them into a subscription trap and prolonging the cancellation process to get more money from the unwilling users.

Data Protection is Non-existent

The landing page of Lov.net attempted to give some peace of mind by saying that the privacy of users will be fully protected. However, once again, the legal section contradicts the message that the site tried to give across. Not only would our personal data be used by the company, but also our profiles would be found on other sites that belong to the company: Cargo Media, based in Pfäffikon, Switzerland.

Some might believe that it is a great opportunity to be searchable on other sites because it would increase the chances of finding compatible partners. However, that is not the case, for personal information like names, age, sexual preferences and photos will be used by someone else on a separate website.

The conclusion from our Lov.net review

We strongly recommend our readers to not sign up for Lov.net because it is a scam. Firstly, it claims to be a simple “icebreaker system” when it is actually a fake chat service. Secondly, in order to send messages, users have to pay for a membership that will automatically renew. In addition, it is not written anywhere that using the site would direct users onto other websites. Eventually, this site will try to rip off anyone, leaving users with a negative experience.
