Report for GroupFun.com review

GroupFun.com is a suspicious dating platform for swingers based in the UK. The website clearly operates a fake chat service, but the whole thing is quite odd since there are no services to pay for. The portal was created by an operator from Guernsey called GF Enterprises. They are based in St. Peter Port. This may be the first review we have written about his fishy company, but our experience was unsettling despite the free services. It certainly looks like a scam, just differently designed.

We created a simple profile, lacking even the most basic information. Almost right away, we could confirm that the members’ area was filled with fictitious accounts. These accounts were created by the operator themselves as stated in the Terms and Conditions. No matter what is going on here, there is no way users will find a spicy partner for their swinger fantasies on this portal.

Details on the GroupFun.com review

GroupFun.com is a puzzling dating platform designed to appeal to the swinger community. Swingers participate in consensual group sex or partner swapping. The website is managed by an operator called GF Enterprises. They are registered in St. Peter Port, Guernsey, and we don’t have any significant experience with them. While writing this review, we confirmed they have set up a fake chat service that operates with automatic messaging.

Nothing to pay for

It just took a minute to realize the profiles on the platform weren’t real. This was also clearly stated in the legal disclaimer. The fake profiles are called ‘Online Emissaries’ in the Terms and Conditions. This type of service is typical of fraudulent websites with bad intentions. Fake users with fake accounts actively engage new users in conversation to supposedly enhance their entertainment experience. Our bland profile was set up to see if potential fictitious characters would creep out of their holes as soon as we set foot in the members’ area.

However, the way this rip-off works is a little unusual. There is nothing to pay for on GroupFun.com. As a result, they’re not trying to get you hooked on the chat, as is usually the case with most scams. This does not mean this portal is legit, though. Forget about a real swinger date if you intend to use this platform.

Excerpt from the GTC (as of 28/08/2023)

groupfun.com utilizes virtual profiles that do not correspond to actual members.

An ONLINE EMISSARY may be a digital actor, an avatar or a synthespian (e.g. a computer generated “person” or “character”). ONLINE EMISSARIES may be employed by groupfun.com or a third party to enhance Your online experience.

Our Service may contain links to third-party web sites or services that are not owned or controlled by the Company. The Company has no control over, and assumes no responsibility for, the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third party web sites or services.

Third-party websites

Things are a little different here from what we’re used to. They’re not trying to get you to spend your money on the chat. We believe their goal is to drag new users to a different website where the operator can make some money off unknowing participants. In our opinion, they’ll try to seduce you until you’re ready to move on to the actual scam. This deception is occasionally used in the industry by independent tricksters or by certain websites. We suspect this is the mechanism of this rip-off, although we have written very few reviews that follow this method.

The conclusion from our GroupFun.com review

GroupFun.com is an online dating portal specialised in tempting swingers to join. The platform is a creation of GF Enterprises, an operator registered in Guernsey. They have created this website to be free, but is full of fake profiles. This is very suspicious, as we believe they may be trying to attract you to sign up for certain third-party websites. We found indications of this in the Terms and Conditions, along with clear references to a fake chat service.
