FlirtyNeighbours.co.uk is a casual dating platform that is supposedly full of gorgeous girls who are eager to meet us. As the domain name indicates, we should be able to find a match that lives nearby very easily. However, we suspected that it would not be as simple as they made it out to be. This portal is managed by Midsummer Online BV, and we know from experience that they’re not a reliable operator. They’re based in Middelburg, in the Netherlands. So far, all their dating websites end up featuring a fake chat service that lures people into a pricey scam.

Nevertheless, we gave it a go and checked if this portal was any better. We started our review by setting up a simple profile and reading the Terms of Use thoroughly. Just as expected, it is unlikely to meet a real person through this rip-off site. There was already a warning about the use of fictitious profiles on the landing site, but most people fail to pay attention to the small print.

Not long after logging in, we started receiving messages from profiles that were obviously fake. After all, we didn’t even bother uploading a photo, so we shouldn’t be receiving any attention if these were real people. However, these ladies seemed eager to have sex with us. Our scepticism was completely justified. Such unexpected interest has a very simple reason. The footer on the landing site already mentioned the use of fake profiles, and so did the Terms and Conditions. Anyone who wishes to reply to these messages must pay to participate in the chat.

The fictitious accounts were created by the company, and they are either automated or managed by someone who works for the company. We are fully aware that people may like to chat with some fantasy characters if they want to use a dating website for legitimate reasons. Our issue with this is that the fictitious characters do not introduce themselves as such. Thus, users may be under the impression that people in the members’ area are real. Based on this knowledge, they may decide to spend money on the chat feature. Therefore, we consider this portal to be a scam.

Midsummer Online BV is therefore entitled to exploit these contributions commercially.

However, there is another problem. The company confesses in the Terms and Conditions that they will be entitled to use and modify any content that users upload to the website. They may use it in any way they please, including for commercial or promotional purposes. In practice, this means that the operator may use the user’s photo to populate other websites in their network. Therefore, if you don’t want to face some unnecessary and uncomfortable situations, we would advise you to avoid this portal for it is a scam.
