There is not much to see on the FlirtyNeighbour.com homepage. The popular preview of the member area, as with other portals, is missing. Privacy is promised, and several times the operator mentions that membership and registration are free. Besides, they say it should be quick and easy to get a date in the neighbourhood.
We scroll to the bottom of the home page and read in small letters:
"Flirtyneighbour.com is designed for entertainment. Profiles are partly fictitious, physical arrangements with these profiles are not possible."
This is a clear indication of a rip-off with moderated chat. The stitch-up always runs the same. After successful registration, many interested women contact the user. But to be able to chat with other members of the site, you first have to buy expensive credits, because each message costs. The interested members hide behind fake profiles and animate the newbies into a lengthy and costly chat. The presence of these moderators is mentioned in the terms and conditions:
“5.2 flirtyneighbour has entertainment as its goal, it is explicitly not the purpose of flirtyneighbour.com to establish dates or meetings in person.
5.3 Midsummer Online BB explicitly reserves the right to send calls on flirtyneighbour.com through self-created profiles.”
The faked profiles are not specially marked, and no physical agreements are possible. The user lives in the belief that his chat partner is the person portrayed and hopes for a real meeting and continues to pay for the entertainment. In this way, the moderators help the operator to increase sales. There will be no real meeting here. FlirtyNeighbour.com is operated by Midsummer Online B.V., based in Deventer, The Netherlands. This company operates other rip-off dating sites on the Internet.
