Report for Flirtu.io review

Flirtu.io is owned and operated by Flirtu SIA, which is a company based in Latvia. Based on what we found, Telegram Messenger, a cloud-based platform that is used for instant messaging, is how users contact each other on this site. As a result, registration and other forms of operation are entirely handled on Telegram Messenger. While reviewing the Terms and Conditions of Flirtu.io, we found no evidence of a scam or rip-off. It looked like a genuine platform that allowed its users to converse and connect. Users can only receive messages from people they match with, eliminating unsolicited messages.

However, upon further research, we found that former users who have used the platform before had reported their negative experiences with the site. They express that the platform contains fake profiles and uses chatbots to converse with users. The site also lacks regulations for users to follow, and administrators show no concern with the presence of fake profiles, nor will they do anything to prevent it. Apart from having a poor experience, users wrote detailed reviews about how the site does not aid anyone in finding genuine dates.

Details on the Flirtu.io review

Despite the lack of evidence in the Terms and Conditions to prove that the site is a fake chat scam and a rip-off, reports from former users indicate that anyone who uses this site is unlikely to get their money’s worth. Here is why:

Numerous claims of fake accounts

Users claim fake profiles and chatbots were solely made to engage users and make it seem like Flirtu.io is filled with genuine active users. Some former users intentionally created multiple accounts to see if they would get messages from the same fake accounts. Needless to say, they did receive the same messages from the same fake accounts multiple times. The purpose of fictitious profiles is to have users purchase ‘credits,’ which is the virtual currency used on this site. Credits can then be used to unlock premium features, which will result in the halt of messages coming from fake profiles.

The ultimate goal is to have users spend a lot of money on premium features. In addition to that, this Latvian-based operator doesn’t ensure that its members will be protected from online scammers. There are reports that certain fictitious accounts act unethically. For example, they pretend to be in love with users and then say they’ve experienced some despair, such as a divorce or the death of a loved one. In actuality, they’re trying to gain sympathy and trust before flirting and trying to lure users into risky relationships by spending money to use the site’s services.

No matches without gifts

Former users have reported that they only get matches and messages after they send out virtual gifts. To get users engaged, Flirtu.io starts users off by rewarding new users with 2 free gifts. After those gifts are sent out, users would need to purchase new ones to send more. The fact that one cannot connect with another supposed user without purchasing a virtual gift to send shows that the platform was designed to rip off users.

Inappropriate messaging

Some users received requests from other supposed users to provide nude photos of themselves. Other profiles asked to engage in video calls. This amounts to harassment. Scammers can also use this information to blackmail users into paying huge sums. Performing any of those requests is ill-advised.

Other users also claimed to have received messages from profiles exchanging sex for money. Apparently, whenever someone reports these unethical incidents, the administrators ignore the reports.

Not diverse enough

Flirtu SIA was not built to cater to all people of different sexual orientations. Users cannot match with someone of the same sex on this site. This shows that this website is not diverse enough to meet the demands of every person, which may lead to the exclusion of some members.

The conclusion from our Flirtu.io review

Our review of the Terms and Conditions did not reveal Flirt.io as a scam or rip-off. However, due to the multiple testimonies and online reviews from former users, it may very well be. According to former users, the profiles are likely fake, or that the site uses chatbots. New users will only receive attention from specific profiles that cut off communication once users have paid for the premium features. The many profiles asking for money and requesting nude photos of users also negate the experience of any meaningful or fun engagement one might be searching for.
