FancySingles.com promotes itself as the best dating site in the world. This is a blunt claim that needs to be reviewed through first-hand experience. On the landing page, we see four menu options. Home, About Us, Contact Us, & Login. 3 out of the 4 menus are useless. The only one that works is the Login option. This seems very much like a scam from a shady company ready to rip off its users. However, the website’s service is entirely free, so if it were a rip-off, it is not clear how the operator would scam its users.

Simply because the site is free is not enough to recommend it. While we were evaluating the website with our free account, we had no contact from other members. Normally, an experience with a fake dating website involves a barrage of messages from fake users. Even though we sent out messages, we received none in return. We only had one member visit our website once, 5 days after we had registered. In addition, there are absolutely no reviews on FancySingles.com which leads us to believe that it might not be the “best dating in the world” after all.

According to the information we gathered from the WHOIS database, FancySingles.com has been around long before 2021 but went by a different name which was Letsmeet.co.za. Letsmeet.co.za was a free South African dating website that also didn’t provide much information. Online reviews claimed that it was the best dating site in South Africa. That is clearly a lie, for Letsmeet.co.za provided no information other than it was free to use.

As a result, we decided to create our own profile to evaluate the website ourselves. Registration was easy and only took a couple of minutes. We were asked to provide our full name, and a valid email address, and to pick a username. Problems did not start until after the registration process was over.

A glitchy user interface

Perhaps the reason for FancySingles.com’s apparent lack of members is that the site is extremely difficult to use and suffers from design flaws that make it difficult to navigate, especially when it comes to viewing profiles. Members’ profiles do not open on a new page, but on a page layer that overlaps the main page. Often times, the pages failed to load, or we had to wait several minutes or try several times before we could get anything done on the site.

When it does load, it usually loads a page that was tried much earlier and the current page that is wanted. This erratic response is particularly irritating and makes it difficult to have a satisfactory dating experience on this site.

Limited functionality

During our evaluation of the site, we found that the inherent limitations of the outdated technology used in the design of this site do not allow for a good experience. The search function is also very frustrating: it seemed to offer a lot of search options, but something unexpected happened. The platform required us to select different search criteria when we were already satisfied with the current settings. Ultimately, this makes the search function by criteria rather useless.

Limited activity

Although we could see a lot of profiles in the members’ area, it did not seem like there was a lot going on FancySingles.com, which is another reason why we do not recommend our readers to sign up on this site, as there are better options elsewhere. All in all, even though we do not suspect any scam or rip-off on FancySingles.com, our experience was not positive. Also, the operator of this platform uses a paid service to conceal its real identity, which could prove problematic in case of a legal dispute.

The interface is glitchy and almost unusable at times, and the site does not provide convenient options to browse through profiles. Furthermore, even though it is free, there does not seem to be a lot of activity on this platform. As a result, trying to find a partner here may not be the wisest thing.
