Report for FabGuys.com review

FabGuys.com is an online casual dating portal for gay, bisexual, and bi-curious males. The website is managed by Winchester Consultancy LTD. This operator is based in London, in the UK. The landing site looks quite old school, and from the early days of the Internet. This is probably explained by the fact that the portal has been up and running since 2006. This would normally be a sign of a quality dating platform. However, we are not so sure this time around.

To evaluate this website for this review, we created a test profile, and read the Terms and Conditions attentively. It does not seem as if there are fake profiles in the chat, and the legal disclaimers did not reveal anything alarming. However, when we compared our experiences to the comments left online by former users, not many of them seemed satisfied. Apparently, many members were banned for no good reason, shortly after signing up for a paid membership. In many instances, after just one or two days. It could be a huge coincidence, or this may be a dodgy rip-off.

Details on the FabGuys.com review

FabGuys.com is an online sex dating platform for gay, bisexual, and bi-curious men. We were pleasantly surprised at first, because everything seemed to be real, and professionally done. Initially, our only complaint was that the interface looked rather dated. However, everything changed as we proceeded with our review, and paid attention to former user’s experiences. We found many complaints which point to a possible scam, or at least, an unprofessional platform. The portal is managed by Winchester Consultancy LTD. This company is based in London.

Free to use

FabGuys.com advertises as a British dating portal for gay and bisexual men, and that it is free to join, and use. It claims to be funded through advertising, and that it only hosts authentic profiles, so you can arrange real dates. There are no images on the landing site, and it looks as if they have not really worked on bettering their graphic design since 2006. Therefore, it does not give us the impression of a blooming and professionally run business.

Beyond appearances, their long-standing career should be a sign of a trustworthy portal, or is it just a well-hidden rip-off? In fact, it is free to register, however, it is possible to pay for a premium subscription as well. The profiles are manually verified, and the platform requires a photo. Also, you must complete your profile, and write a little about your interests. So far, so good. Furthermore, the Terms and Conditions do not mention anything about fake profiles or fishy cancellation policies. From experience, we know that these are the biggest risks among this type of website.

Disconcerting experiences

However, we moved on with our research and found out as much as possible about the portal and the operator. With such a long career, the users have shared a lot of reviews about the platform. It turns out that this portal may have seen better days. Many users complained that the website is moderated by amateurish operators who ban users, for no good reason.

What is even more concerning is that many of these bans seem to come shortly after signing up for a paid membership. We find this extremely fishy. Many of the users also report encountering dodgy characters on this website. However, in general, everyone must be extremely careful when dealing with people online. This part, at least, is not necessarily the company’s fault, but we are still not convinced about this portal.

The conclusion from our FabGuys.com review

FabGuys.com is a dating website for gay and bisexual men. It is free to register and use, although there is a premium option. However, we found many complaints from former users, even from members that had been active on the portal for years. Apparently, people get banned for no reason. Particularly, shortly after purchasing a membership. This may be a scam, and users are not pleased, so it is best to look elsewhere. The platform is managed by Winchester Consultancy LTD, from London.

As a basic (free) member of fagbuys.com almost since its inception. I can understand why the site looks dated, most members do not pay! The work of moderating such a large community must be huge, which is why mistakes are sometimes made. There are fake profiles & many fantasists who do not meet but pretend they will. Profiles pop up & disappear like mushrooms – the site’s free so it’s possible to make a profile for the weekend! There are also criminals as in any community. It would be impossible to vet every member to police standards to ensure that no ‘bad apples’ creep in.
I’ve met many genuine, honest, decent men & had a lot of fun. I’ve also wasted a lot of time chatting to timewasters & even travelled to meet some. People need to understand that the site owners do not have much control over what happens on on their site. They do ban people who break rules or have complaints about them. The fact that basic membership is free attracts the wrong people, sadly, but it is a excellent site. A flashy look would not cure any of the negatives.
