CougarsPlace.com is an online dating platform for mature women and their young lovers. Colloquially, a cougar is an older woman who seeks sexual relationships with much younger men. The landing site shows an image of a woman beside the registration form. Thanks to our experience in dealing with fake dating sites, we knew that CougarsPlace.com was another scam website just by looking at its layout. The site was developed by Meet Us Media LTD, an operator from Nicosia in Cyprus. They have created dozens of similar rip-off websites that use fake chat services, so we know them well for this.

The landing site invites visitors to the site to sign up for free. That was the only information we could gather from the landing page. The lack of clarity was a major red flag. Any reliable operator would provide enough information to new visitors so that they could make an informed decision about joining the site or not. Unfortunately, this operator does not mean well. The members’ area is crowded with fake profiles that immediately filled our message inbox with flirty messages. They wanted us to spend our money on exchanging messages through its deceiving website.

CougarsPlace.com is yet another online dating website developed by Meet Us Media LTD, a dodgy company from Nicosia, Cyprus. They have built up a significant network of online dating rip-offs. We have previously written many reviews about their sleazy frauds. This time, it is just a bare landing site with a picture and not much more.

Fantasy women

Immediately after logging in, we received a lot of messages from the fake accounts populating the chat. This attention was completely undeserved since we hadn’t even had the time to write anything on our profile. This suggests that the website uses a fake chat service. It is further confirmed within the contents of the Terms and Conditions. Here, the fictitious characters are called ‘Staff profiles.’ Admittedly, they were only created as a form of entertainment to give to the users of the site.

The site wasn’t lying when it said we could register for free, but it is pretty much pointless. Our experience with the site proved that users can only send a couple of messages without paying. In addition, we could read the messages we received, which function as bait for innocent users. As obvious as this scam may seem, it seems to work. Otherwise, the company wouldn’t dedicate it’s time to constantly copying the same rip-off for each fake dating site they generate.

The Company operates system profiles (i.e. profiles connected to Accounts which have been created by the Company and which are either operated by contractors of the Company who impersonate the persons portrayed in such profiles or by a system designed to interact with users) and expressly reserves the right to chat with users through such system profiles in order to enhance the users’ entertainment experience. Physical contact with individuals behind such system profiles is strictly prohibited.

Pricey system

Some people may find it exciting to chat with virtual profiles, and there is nothing wrong with that as long as the operator is clear about the nature of these profiles. Alas, they are anything but straightforward here. Even if you’re into some cybersex, you will be left disappointed on this site. The false profiles were designed to keep users from getting anywhere on this site. They are hoping users will spend as much money as possible on sending messages before they realize that they are being scammed.

In order to send messages, users need to buy a bundle of ‘coins.’ These coins are the only accepted currency for unlocking the chat function. However, users won’t be able to spend them anywhere else on the Internet.
