Report for BDSM.com review

BDSM.com is an online dating portal for BDSM, fetish, and bondage enthusiasts. At first sight, the portal appears to be the perfect place to indulge in these fantasies, and this may well be true, provided you are well aware of what the specificity of these fantasies entails with regard to this industry. As a matter of fact, it should be noted here that most of the women on the site are paid actresses. It is stated in the fine print for all to see, but who reads the fine prints?

Now, many users will agree to interact with a professional who will know how to respond to fantasies that would otherwise be difficult to express. Although, if you are looking for a genuine date, you may as well look elsewhere. What is even more problematic is that we found online reviews mentioning a subscription rip-off. While we have not been able to prove it, the fact that their customer service is outsourced is obviously a problem. The website is operated by Magnolia Blossom Inc, from Delray Beach in the USA, and Athelstan Enterprise BV, in the Netherlands, outside of the US.

Details on the BDSM.com review

BDSM.com advertises with free registration and near to a million members who share their kinks on the platform. As usual, we decided to put the website to the test. Signing up is pretty straight forward, but users need to go through a lengthy questionnaire to compete their profile which is a little annoying. It would make sense if the point of the portal was to provide real dates, but most of the game here is to interact with paid actresses, so what’s the point of saying much, if you have the money?

Suspicions of a subscription rip-off

In order to use the service, users need to buy tokens to pay for a session with their favourite model, or subscribe to a monthly membership that automatically renews unless cancelled it in time. Indeed, all subscriptions on the website are subject to an automatic renewal billing policy. Unfortunately, we found many reviews online stating that they had bad experiences with an unresponsive customer support and that they had continued to be charged for several months after initiating the termination procedure. Since customer service is outsourced, this can ultimately be a costly rip-off.

The website is operated by Magnolia Blossom Inc, from Delray Beach in the USA, and Athelstan Enterprise BV, in the Netherlands, outside of the US. The former is responsible for several other online dating websites which are known to be scams as well. Obviously, should you decide to register on BDSM.com, you should do so with scepticism and expect the least kind of service you can get.

Fake profiles

Aside from the complications that may come with the paid memberships, there is another issue worth mentioning. The site’s members’ area appears to be full of fake profiles. As a result, it is extremely unlikely to meet a real person for an actual bondage-adventure on this website.

Indeed in the small print, the site half-heartedly acknowledges, that not all profile pictures are of actual members. In other words, these profiles are created by the operator to make the service work. This is obvious once you sign up: it is primarily men who are looking to satisfy fantasies that professional women are responding to. If you are aware of this, fine, but it seems to us that the site is playing with words by referring to “dating”, when it is clearly not the case, in the strict sense at least.

The conclusion from our BDSM.com review

BDSM.com is a scam if you are gullible enough to expect dating the woman you are paying to satisfy your fantasies. Many users seem to be fine with this and have found a way to express desires that are often difficult to disclose. The problem is that the dating service is known for their subscription rip-offs through different websites. We read that some users went through a terrible ordeal when trying to unsubscribe. Extreme caution should therefore be exercised or be prepared for a bad experience.
