Report for Banana.me review

Banana.me does not provide any information on its landing page. That makes us already a bit suspicious. So we checked the internet and read the terms and conditions for more details. We found some negative reviews about the website and its operator.

This site is operated by the Cellar Door LTD which runs a few more dating portals. The costs will originate via a subscription for a premium membership which will extend automatically. That does not necessarily have to be a scam, but there are more critical facts. The website will send automated messages which are called “ice breaker” messages. So a particular member will receive a lot of messages from other profiles and assumes that those messages come from a personal purpose. The messages are generated and not personally written.

Details on the Banana.me review

Banana.me does not provide any details on its landing page. The online dating website does only show that you can register for free. Our first impression is not suitable as a dating portal with no transparency as a negative factor. So we read the terms and conditions of the dating platform which are very extensive. The very first paragraph of the terms and conditions is about the costs on this website. So the landing page advertises with free registration, but after that, a user will need to spend money.

That makes the free registration to a misleading detail as we see it. But there is more to mention about the costs of the website. The subscription will extend automatically at the end of its term if the cancellation is not made in time. It is necessary to send an e-mail or contact the customer support of Banana.me to cancel the subscription.

It’s a trap

In the terms and conditions, it mentioned that the operator might offer a special subscription from time to time. That offer is a cheap subscription for one day that seems to be very affordable. But this one-day subscription will automatically extend to the membership for one month with high costs. So as far as we see, this one-day subscription and maybe also other exclusive offered memberships are a trap and a rip-off. Plus we read in the terms and conditions about so-called “ice-breaker” messages.

Those ice-breaker messages are automatically sent from one profile to another profile. So you could register here and will receive a lot of messages. Those messages stimulate the user to get a paid membership to stay in touch and could be part of the scam. But in the end, the messages were all automatically sent, and there does not have to be real interest. This website is operated by the Cellar Door LTD which is located in Gibraltar. As we see it, this is an uncommon location for a company that runs websites in the UK.

The conclusion from our Banana.me review

Banana.me will charge money of its users. The costs will originate via a subscription. It is mentioned in the terms and conditions that a one-day subscription will extend automatically to a subscription for one month. More, the website uses “ice-breaker” messages that are automatically sent messages. We assume that this website is a rip off with a subscription trap.
