Report for 50sLove.co.za review

The dating platform 50sLove.co.za addresses all those singles over 50, who are seeking like-minded people to chat, flirt, and meet. At first sight, it looks like a legit and honest dating portal. However, upon further inspection, it turns out to be just a scam with a fake chat. The site’s operator admits to creating fantasy profiles to communicate with their members.

The purpose of these accounts is to lure you into signing up for a premium membership, which renews automatically. We checked the Terms and Conditions, and it looks like stopping the recurring billing is unnecessarily complicated. Therefore, we suspect that this could be a subscription rip-off. The brains, which hide behind 50sLove.co.za, are Alpha Internet Services GmbH. This company is registered in Innsbruck, in Austria.

Details on the 50sLove.co.za review

50sLove.co.za makes a great first impression, thanks to a well-designed and professional landing page, which does not show any explicit pictures. This is particularly important when addressing mature people. They might feel overwhelmed by the abundance of erotic content, that we can normally find on other dating websites.

The overall impression of 50sLove.co.za, is, instead, reassuring, clean, and safe. It appears clear that this platform is not a good choice if you are looking for casual sexual experiences. Those who sign up here are searching for romance and sincere relationships. To find out whether 50sLove.co.za is a scam or not, we set up an account, to fully test the platform. Also, we searched the internet for past users’ reviews, and had an in-depth look at the Terms and Conditions.

Everything is fake

50sLove.co.za openly admits that the member’s area contains fictional profiles, which are controlled by professional animators. They claim to do that just to enhance the user’s experience, and motivate members to be more active. The problem is that these accounts cannot be distinguished from genuine ones, if there are any. Therefore, nobody can be trusted on this website. Chances are that any communication that you receive comes from one of these fake profiles.

This is a scam because it is almost impossible to arrange a real-life date, which is the opposite of what is promised on the landing page. Ultimately, chatting on 50sLove.co.za is just a waste of time.

Excerpt from the GTC (as of 17/11/2022)

The user/member is also aware that 50SLOVE uses so-called animators to motivate users/members to communicate interactively. These are real people. However, the user / member is aware that he cannot meet the animators in real life.

Risky subscriptions

Signing up on 50sLove.co.za is free of charge, but to communicate with other members you must purchase a premium membership. Clear evidence is missing, but we suspect that this could lead to a subscription rip-off. All paid memberships renew automatically until cancelled by you. The notice required is quite fair. However, the termination request must be sent either by registered mail to a physical address, or by fax.

Moreover, the list of information required is endless. It seems that Alpha Internet Services GmbH, the site’s operator from Innsbruck, in Austria, is deliberately trying to make the cancellation very difficult.

The conclusion from our 50sLove.co.za review

On the surface, 50sLove.co.za, run by Alpha Internet Services GmbH, from Austria, seems like a great option for singles over 50, who are searching for a partner. The landing page looks quite promising, but our review has shown that it is just a scam with a fake chat. Your chances of finding a real date here are virtually non-existent. Moreover, the premium membership that you need to unlock the chat features, is extremely difficult to cancel, and could easily turn into a subscription trap.

Indeed 50s love is the scam. I have stopped using their website early last year. I have done cancellation through email and they said I need to send fax, or registered email.
I will appreciate this website to assist me against scammers

I communicated with them via email cancelling my premium membership after noticing that it a scam site as the pictures that were posted looked familiar to website that once my friend became a member of nine years ago.

I cannot delete the account from the website. Everytime I get a message that I must coontact their customer when I do so I being told that I need to send a registered mail or fax to cancel my.membership.
