Ru-Brides.com is an online dating platform for men looking for a Russian fiancée. The website is managed by Crystal Universal Transit LLP, a company based in London. They control a network of online dating scams, so we decided to find out if this was yet another rip-off. Our research revealed that the website is a fake chat full of fictitious profiles. These are all suspiciously attractive, but this is not the only red flag. When we analyzed the terms of use, we found out that the company admitted to creating so-called “test profiles”, allegedly as a form of quality control.

While we were writing this review, we noticed that these fake profiles were not clearly labeled as such. It was impossible to know whether we were talking to a real person or not. The website offers free registration, but the basic membership is useless. In order to communicate with other users, the user must purchase expensive “credits”. These credits are a means of payment to send letters, or to enable a video chat. Either way, the platform is clearly a fake chat scam that could never help users find the bride of their dreams.

Useless fake chat

For the purpose of this review, we created the most boring profile possible, and read the terms and conditions in great detail. Soon after joining, we were flooded by completely undeserved attention, as we hadn’t written anything at all on our test profile. Love letters started arriving by the dozen. However, we couldn’t reply to any of them. Not unless we were to purchase the so-called “credits”. This business model is therefore quite lucrative for the company, but according to our experience it is a total waste for the user.

Credits are virtual tokens that are sold in packages, as a way to prepay for all communication on the website. A short conversation will soon turn out to be a very expensive affair. Writing a letter can cost over 7 USD. However, even if you didn’t care about the money, there is no point in any of this. The reason is simple, pretty much every single profile on the platform seems to be fictitious. There is no way you can end up finding a bride here, since the platform is clearly a fake chat rip-off.

We can find a typical example here, since the legal text says the platform is only meant to be used for “entertainment purposes”. This is just a nice way of saying that you shouldn’t expect anything from this dating site. It is not what it looks like, this isn’t an honest platform where you could ever find a Russian bride.
