Report for iWantBlacks.com review

iWantBlacks.com touts itself as an online dating site which caters to users who are looking for local black singles. They reportedly enable these link-ups at an affordable price. According to the landing page, iWantBlacks.com has served over 1 million happy users since its founding. Apparently, the vibrant community of users makes it easier to get a match on the platform.

iWantBlacks.com is run by Kaleton Web sro, from Bratislava, Slovakia. In previous reviews, we have found them to operate numerous scams, disguised as dating sites. iWantBlacks.com is no different. We reviewed the Terms and Conditions and found them to be a fake chat and subscription rip-off. They acknowledge that some of the profiles are not genuine. Moreover, they only provide a limited window for users to cancel their subscriptions.

Details on the iWantBlacks.com review

It is easy for an unsuspecting user to mistake iWantBlacks.com for a genuine site. They promise tons of local black singles, and 24/7 customer service. The profiles on the site are also quite engaging. We received messages from at least 10 profiles, minutes after signing up. However, we could not chat with any of them without subscribing. A closer review of the website revealed several issues.

Fake chat

In the Terms and Conditions, Kaleton Web sro states that it reserves the right to create profiles. The Slovakian-based operator from Bratislava has the leeway to develop profiles, which are created and managed by staff. They refer to them as “staff profiles”, which are created to ensure the site’s features operate as they should. This revelation means that there is no guarantee that a user is chatting with a genuine profile.

Excerpt from the GTC (as of 18/12/2023)

We do not guarantee that all the profiles found in search will belong to other users, as we reserve the right to create profiles which are maintained and managed by our employees (“staff profiles”).

Subscription scam

iWantBlacks.com runs on a subscription model. Users can pay as little as 0.99 pounds for a 1-day subscription. Alternatively, they could opt for weekly or monthly subscriptions. These go for 16.00 and 47.19 pounds, respectively. There is also a 3-month subscription package that goes for 99.99 pounds. These packages might seem like a small price to pay, for meeting a life partner. However, a deeper dive exposes the punitive nature of these terms.

Paid subscriptions renew automatically. While users may cancel, they must do so, at least 72 hours before the renewal date. In our experience, this stipulation amounts to a rip-off. Providing a limited window inconveniences users who do not monitor their subscriptions. These individuals are, therefore, likely to rack up high fees for their subscriptions, which is unfair. iWantBlacks.com also does not provide any notification of these auto-renewals. They seek to take advantage of users.

Infringes on privacy

Kaleton Web sro can link its services with a user’s other social networks, like Facebook. They could do this by asking users to log in to their Facebook accounts. The operator can access all personal information if a user accepts this request.

The conclusion from our iWantBlacks.com review

iWantBlacks.com is a subscription rip-off and fake chat. In our experience, dating sites that only allow members to cancel subscriptions at least 3 days before renewal are a scam. They limit this period because they want to charge for unintended subscriptions. The authenticity of the profiles is also questionable. The site admits that some of the profiles belong to their staff. Therefore, chances are high that users may be chatting with fake profiles. We advise them to avoid this site.
