The online dating website FBook.co.za advertises with a solid offer. Registration is free of charge. We also read about great opportunities to find a hot match here on this site. But as good as the offer sounds, this site is quite bad. We did some research and found many negative reviews from former customers.
Regarding the information that we found this site is filled with fake profiles. The fake profiles show fictitious people with whom a date in real-life is impossible. But the user does not know about the fake chat. Also, the operator of the site does not mention a fake chat in the terms and conditions by name. We do not read about fake operators or fictional profiles.
But the operator notes the following
“We reserve the right, but have no obligation, to monitor any and all public and private postings and messages”
Moreover, we found many negative reports from former customers which mention the fake chat. Because of that, plus the fact that the operator of the site is not trustworthy, we assume that this site has operated fake profiles.
The automatic renewal of the subscription
The members´ pool of this site is filled with fake profiles. The user must pay money to be able to have a chat. Even though it seems that all profiles are fake. Costs will occur for a subscription for a premium-membership. That makes the advertisement of the free registration misleading information, as we see it.
The subscription will extend automatically if it is not terminated in time. That does not have to be bad in general. But in this case, we assume that it is used to trap the user in an expensive subscription.
The operator of the site is Infinite Connections Inc. which is located in London, UK. That company is well-known on the internet as it runs a large network of dating sites. All their portals appear to be a rip-off with a subscription trap. We found many negative reports about the operator.
