Report for DivorcedHookup.com review

DivorcedHookup.com offers free registration. On the landing page, we also see some profile pictures. These profiles are in fact fake and show fictitious people. It is not possible to meet with a fictitious profile. Moreover, fake profiles are controlled by bots. This is all noted on the landing page, which is a welcome sign. Still, we found a lot of reviews complaining about a scam.

There are several reasons why this portal is not a good choice. First, the note on the landing page does not explain that all profiles are fake. Second, high costs will arise. The goal of moderation is to increase the income of the operators. Premium-membership is needed to chat, which will end in a subscription rip-off. The operator of the site is Learn Virtual LTD, which is based in Suffolk, UK.

Details on the DivorcedHookup.com review

DivorcedHookup.com seems to be a good choice. On the landing page, we see profile pictures. We are also told that this portal has more than a million active members. This means the chances of finding a match must be high as well. This platform appears to be well-known in the UK. On the landing page, we did not find much information about the site.

But it is confirmed that you can meet other site members. So part of the offer is the prospect of actual dates. However, we also read about computer-generated virtual profiles on the homepage. The operator of the site is Learn Virtual LTD, which is based in Suffolk, UK.

This site is full of fake profiles

DivorcedHookup.com advertises with a lot of profiles and a large number of members. But this site uses fictitious profiles for the entertainment of the user. These fake profiles are noted on the landing page. Well, they are noted but not identified by their real name. Here they are called ‘computer-generated virtual profiles’, which are the same as fictitious profiles. In any event, this means the profiles on the site are fake. Our research shows this is the case with all profiles on the portal. In our experience, it is not possible to meet a real person here. So real dates will never happen.

The landing page states that you can meet other members. However, it is only possible to ‘meet’ virtually, since fake profiles show fictitious people. As we see it, this is a misleading claim. In this way, visitors to the portal will be encouraged to register. Afterwards, the scam begins. Directly after registration, a new member will receive numerous messages from other profiles. These profiles are all fake, but not marked as such. Additionally, bots control these fake profiles and will send messages to new users. The goal is to entice new members to a chat.

Excerpt from the GTC (as of 13/01/2022)

Notwithstanding the foregoing, by and throughout your use, access and interactions to and with the Services and related content, You may interact with content generated by, or with the assistance of, automated online accounts (“Bots” or “Automated Profiles”), where none – or substantially none – of the actions and posts of that Automated Profile are the result of, or arise in connection with, a natural person’s profile or otherwise User Content.

High costs after registration

If a user wants to reply to messages from bots, costs will arise for premium-membership. It is important to note that bots will not send any notification about moderation. So they will not identify as fictitious ‘people’. Moreover, the subscription is not just expensive but will also end in a trap. Automatic renewal is used to rip users off. The operator of the portal makes termination difficult. Premium-membership will thus renew again and again.

On the internet, we found negative reviews of the portal. Former users complain about fake profiles and that these seem to be controlled by fake chat operators. As we now know, bots control the fake profiles. Even though virtual profiles are admitted on the landing page, some former users did not notice this. However, the purpose of these fictitious profiles is to scam users. Bots entice users to purchase premium-membership, according to reviews on the internet. If this succeeds, the trap will snap shut. Former users recorded experiences of the operator ignoring or declining termination requests.

The conclusion from our DivorcedHookup.com review

DivorcedHookup.com is a rip-off with a subscription trap. Plus, this site is a fake chat. The use of fictitious profiles controlled by bots is noted on the landing page. Still, the full scale and purpose of moderation are not made clear. Fake profiles are used to lure users into a trap. Premium-membership is hard to terminate as the operator makes cancellation difficult.
