Report for ChatYou.com review

ChatYou.com presents itself as the perfect dating portal for people who want to chat with attractive women from around the world. They state that their services are guaranteed. They help individuals to have flirty, friendly, or hot chat experiences, with the many female members on their site. The homepage of ChatYou.com appears quite promising, at first sight. Unfortunately for them, we conducted some research into this dating website. We found that they populate their membership pool with fictional profiles. It is likely that this website is a fake chat scam.

The landing page advertises free registration, but using the chatting feature, requires additional purchases of a virtual currency. For these reasons, ChatYou.com looks to be an expensive rip-off, and a waste of time. It is unlikely that users can contact any genuine people here. The owner of ChatYou.com is listed as Apptex Performance BV, a company based in Geldrop, in the Netherlands. Not much information is available about this operator on the internet. So, we decided to investigate this website ourselves. We reviewed their Terms of Service and made our own test account.

Details on the ChatYou.com review

ChatYou.com tells prospective members that it is a free dating portal, where users can meet the women of their dreams. Not only that, but they also guarantee that users will have fun and flirty chats on their website. Unfortunately, our experience proved that these promises are misleading. We concluded that ChatYou.com uses false profiles, and fake chat operators, to scam and rip-off its users.

Fake chat entertainment service

When beginning our review of ChatYou.com, the first thing we looked at was their Terms and Conditions. There, the operator, Apptex Performance BV from Geldrop, in the Netherlands, admits to creating fictional profiles. These are supposedly meant to enhance user entertainment. These fake chat operators are employed by sites like this, to scam users into spending money. Users of the website will be misled into thinking that they are chatting with an attractive woman, when in fact, it is a fictitious profile. Interactions with the fake profiles are not real, and they cannot be met in real life.

Another point that made this rip-off clear to us, occurred when we made our test account. Immediately after registering, we received messages from beautiful women, pouring into our inbox. Since our account was completely blank and had no pictures, we found this to be an indication of a fake chat scam.

Excerpt from the GTC (as of 03/10/2022)

Apptex uses professional animators and operators for the entertainment of the Users, who are not identified separately in the system. This Service is provided in the highest quality. Real meetings are not possible with these operators. Users can only send them messages within the portal.

Virtual Currency

If users want to unlock the ability to chat with other users, they must purchase a large amount of virtual currency, called “coins.” Coins must be used for each message sent. So, members can easily find themselves spending huge amounts of money, to chat with profiles which are probably not real. These coins are also non-refundable.

Since we know that there are fake chat operators on this platform, spending money on this site is quite risky. Fake chat operators are employed for the sole purpose of extending conversations, to extract as much money as possible from users. So, using this website could lead to huge losses for members.

The conclusion from our ChatYou.com review

From our review of ChatYou.com, we concluded that it is an untrustworthy dating portal, managed by Apptex Performance BV, from the Netherlands. They clearly employ fake chat operators and require payment for messages. These are both key indicators of a scam. It is likely that almost the entire members page is populated with fictitious users, who will attempt to make users spend money. Ultimately, the chances of meeting anyone genuine here are very low, and we do not recommend becoming a member of this site.

I’m engaging with the Chatyou support team – see below.

I paid by PayPal & I have received refunds. In Australia, charges are made by Google Payment, which charged PayPal. I have also escalated to Google.

My latest interaction with Chatyou support follows.

I’ll go through the statements made by Chatyou one by one.

    Statement 1
“Please note that you have been clearly informed that the application/site uses animated profiles.”

All the contract states in this regard is that “a. For the entertainment of the users, Apptex uses animators and operators as *professional chat partners. This service is provided in the highest quality. No real meetings are possible with these operators. Users can only send them messages within the portal.”

There is no indication that animators and operators, in their role as professional chat partners are independent users. Their role as a chat partner is not disclosed, in the terms & conditions, marketing statements, and on the app itself. Instead, they are misrepresented to customers as other users. They are indistinguishable from other users ie true customers.

In summary, there is no statement anywhere that animated profiles are used. In fact, the opposite applies; there is an expectation that users are located in the area described on the profile and that they are able to meet.

    Statement 2
“Despite this knowledge, you decided to use the application/website.”

My expectations were driven by the representations made in marketing statements and the terms & conditions. That is why I used the app.
As stated above, there is no clear statement of how the app really works; only misrepresentations.

    Statement 3
“You also decided to spend money on sending messages.”

I did, in the expectation that other users were real, in the locations described, and able to meet.

That expectation was fuelled by misrepresentations.

    Statement 4
“Unfortunately, we have no influence on your decisions.”

Of course you do – by providing clear statements as to the operation of the app and not making the numerous misrepresentations that have been made.
    Its called full disclosure.

    Statement 5
“If you think that despite knowing how the application/website works, you use the service and spend money to use it, then it is your sole decision.”

If you misrepresent how the app works, my decision is based on your misrepresentations. In most Western countries, such conduct is called obtaining money by deception; a criminal offence.

    Statement 6
“We were obliged to inform about the functionality of what we have done. Everything else was up to you.”

You had a responsibility to make full and accurate disclosure. You haven’t.

    Overall
You need to accept responsibility and remedy this misconduct.

As you use Google Payments in Australia, the matter of this business conduct has been escalated to Google. I am not sure that they will be very receptive to supporting any business operating in this manner.

I have asked for for all my money back from this site and now I’ve seen all reviews I think everyone should get together to close the site down as their information about made up profiles is so well hidden I can’t find it. I won’t say how much they’ve taken me for but not happy at all. so let’s stand together and bring them down.

  3. Carl 13th December 2023 at 11:13 pm - Reply

I agree, they are a rip-off, you will never meet anyone on there. secondly, when I went to purchase coins, I clicked on the cheapest one to start and they charged me £99 which they refused to give it back as they said I confirmed the payment. And you cant delete the account, I keep getting pestered by people on there, even though I have deleted my email account. They should be closed down.

      I totally agree.
      Absolute scam.
      Admittedly I was sloppy.
I initially searched Google Chat, and clicked the link in the belief it was Google Chat. Then sucked in.

Yes I totally agree with everyone. comments here. The profiles are fake and the women are operaters. They also change shifts because it is not the same dialogue at different times of the day.

I chatted with a girl supposedly from my town. I tried many times to arrange a date with her but she always put me off bye promising “soon “. “I’m almost ready “. So, after spending a significant amount of money I finally gave up realizing it was never going to happen. My last message to her was OK, I’m done, I’ll leave it up to you, contact me if and when you are ready.

Fake convo … at 4 Am , 6 attractive women started to chat with me, they all had the same type of conversation.

    • Anonymous 2nd March 2023 at 9:53 pm - Reply

Agreed with you 100%: I had the same problem . Conversation very cheesy similar to each other and most of all not the way women crave over men. It’s like your trapped between few real profiles and lots of fake ones. I think when someone closes their account they also clown it and use as another fake .

  20. Anonymous 9th January 2023 at 11:36 pm - Reply
