The online dating portal AffaireChat.nl advertises with a solid offer. Here, the registration is for free and it seems that the site has got a lot of members. But we found out that all of the information on the landing page is misleading and irritating. The registration is for free but not the use of the portal. Moreover, the website may have a lot of members that look good, and they seem to be open-minded. The problem is that all profiles in the members’ pool are a fake.
Faked profiles in the member’s pool
In the members’ pool there are only fake profiles that are managed by fake operators. The profiles and testimonials on the landing page also turned out to be a cheeky fake. So, the site is a fake chat. This means that it is not possible to find one real person here. A fake profile shows a fictional person. A date in real-life is not possible, of course.
The fake chat is mentioned in the terms and conditions:
“4.2. Next Step Media BV emphasises that the Website contains both actual and fictional (i.e. moderated) profiles. Based on the nature of service or entertainment, Next Step Media BV is entitled to send messages on the Website using the fictional, moderated profiles.”
The fake profiles are managed by fake operators who will entice the user to a chat. For the conversation, a user will have to spend money first. Costs will originate for credits, which will be offered in different packages with varying amounts of credits and rates. A user will pay per sent message, which costs about one Pound.
Moderated chats with fictious profiles
So, a user will pay a lot of money for a conversation with a fake profile that shows a fictional person. Of course, the user does not know about the fake chat, as it is only mentioned in the terms and conditions. A fake operator will not identify as a fictional person and a fake profile is not marked as such.
The operator of the site is Next Step Media B.V., based in Breda in the Netherlands. This company seems to be well-known for a big network of dating sites that are all a rip-off with a fake chat.
