Report for MyDates.com review

The online dating website MyDates.com advertises with a great number of active members and free registration. It guarantees to find interesting people in your area easily and is does not take long until you can arrange a date with them. But our research shows that the page is a scam of the Boranu Online BV.

The number of members is misleading information as MyDates.com uses professional animators and operators for the communication with its Users. Those operators maintain fake profiles which cannot clearly be identified by the users. So the users are not able to spot the difference between a real or fake profile. Dates in real life are impossible as the users can only exchange fantasies in the chat room but nothing more. As the costumers of MyDates.com pay for every sent message to have a conversation with a fake profile means it is a rip-off.

Details on the MyDates.com review

The landing page of MyDates.com advertise with many profile pictures from already registered members, free registration and that it is easy to find the love of your life. Furthermore the online dating website guarantees that all personal data is safe and that it is completely transparent. However, our researches show that all the information are intentionally wrong and that the page is a scam. The number of members are fake as the page uses operators for the conversation with the users who have to pay per message.

The profiles on the landing page plus the number of profiles in the member’s area are not real. The number is the sum up of fake profiles of the professional animators and operators. Their job is to get in touch with the users and encourage them to a long conversation. What the users do not know is that they are messaging with a fictitious person and that every single part of the chat is not real. This is how the scam works as the users pay about £1.50 for every message sent to a fake profile.

Excerpt from the GTC (as of 29/03/2024)

Boranu uses professional animators and operators for the entertainment of the Users, who are not identified separately in the system. This Service is provided in the highest quality. Real meetings are not possible with these operators. Users can only send them messages within the portal.

We read about a big number of fake profiles

While our research found a lot of customers report they could not clearly identify which profile was real or fake. Most of the reviews we find on the internet are negative and users report that the operators also use the same messages again and again. We read about a big number of fake profiles, computer-generated and duplicate messages as well. The operators do not show themselves as a fictitious person and pretend to be a real member on the dating webpage.

The operators of the dating site MyDates.com is the company Boranu Online BV from the Netherlands. The company do not only just run this scam webpage but a big network of rip-off dating websites. With our research we found a lot of negative experiences from former customers with MyDates.com and its operators.

The conclusion from our MyDates.com review

The dating website MyDates.com is a scam and its operator Boranu Online BV is well known as a fraudulent company. The page uses operators that maintain fake profiles for conversations with real users. Who adopt that they have a chat with a real person and pay per message.

Hi I changed my search areas o mydates, and guess what loads of replies in seconds. But most importantly and interesting I was very fast to notice these replies were exactly the same word for word in every search area I tried my pal also quickly noticed these exact word for word replies. Even funnier 2,3 times at once from same area.FAKE

Yes as everyone says a complete rip off, it took me about 5 mins tro suspect it wasn’t real, for a start every single woman who had “looked at my profile” was online at 9am on a week dayt and i am talking 100 plus people! yeah right i don’t think so, hopefully people will read these reviews before they waste their money and find a real site and sorry if you8 got burnt as well Dx

This is such an obvious scam when they post photos of celebrities claiming to be members!

They posted an old photo of Glynis Barber (for those who remember the TV show ‘Dempsey and Makepeace’) and tried to pass it off as a genuine member. Somehow, I do not think that such a successful actress would be on a site like this, and she would definitely not be living in Essex!

DEFINITELY A SCAM. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND JOIN A GENUINE SITE

Wish i read this earlier, thankfully not ripped off too much. They are nothing but grubs everyone involved, fakes pretending to be genuine. Soon as you mention exchanging phone numbers their keyboard closes down. I didn’t even have a photo up yet they still come from nowhere always online ready to respond. I’m calling bullshit.

It is quite obviously a scam, they never answer your questions unless they think they know the answer you’re looking for. My profile has not been competed, no write up and no picture, just as is. Its surprising how many of them think I’m they’re dream date. I also live in UK and a lot of the profile have pictures of Americans, just look in the background for the detail. She said she was from the UK near to me and the picture was taken at her house. She didn’t realise the electric socket in the background was a 110v 2 pin socket… its all in the detail but I still had fun leading them on, thinking they had me, but only using the daily free coin spin. Hehe

Been on this website for about 6 months now, the woman’s name is Stacey and she comes from saltburn near Redcar so she says,we were supposed to have a proper date today but comes up with an excuse every weekend, so I told her today if we don’t get together today then forget it between us, since then every hour she is contacting me to text her, so I told her this is a scam website and since then she has not sent any more text message to me, so friends keep off this website and save your money because you won’t get a proper date with anyone on here

Guys just don’t do it. I tested 89 profiles and they were all fakes. They say they live in Johannesburg. I used a language they should understand asking a very common South African question. They all failed.

AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! Mydates.com is definitely a fraudulent site that uses fake profiles and employees who earn as much as possible through prolonged chats with you and you unwittingly keep buying coins. I have the screenshots of chats with several profiles and all the chats have similar messages from the site.

    • Another Sucker 6th December 2021 at 1:20 pm - Reply

You’re right, he’s a liar! You can’t get onto the site until you verify your email address. It’s highly unlikely that someone would go to the trouble of hacking his email account (although it can be easy if he’s been visiting pr0n sites without any protection). Either that or he’s been phished, Either way, I bet he was in the doghouse for a long time (maybe not even let back inside again).

      • John 8th December 2021 at 5:34 pm - Reply

I’m sorry to tell you that he did create the account himself and he is lying to you.

They do not create a profile, anyone can leave the profile blank and they (their computer system and staff) will still send messages to the account. If the options specify then emails will go to the registered email address. That sounds like what your man did.

This site is fake like most similar sites. On another site shagparadise I created two accounts, one male and one female. I received identical text messages on both accounts from different profiles and with different pictures. They will not allow multiple accounts for this reason. On the female account I was getting a massive amount of messages from “Females” which were referring to a male despite the account being female. No search for a male would bring up a female account. It’s the same with all these sites. Totally fake designed to take your money.

If you bother to read the terms when signing up it does mention that there are fictitious profiles. On shagparadise it says that the fake profiles are clearly marked which they are not. Maybe they are if you pay for credits and then the subscription which is meant to add additional features. I have not tried that, I only purchased the smallest amount of credits on one occasion.

l have recently fallen prey to the so called ‘MY DATES’ web site. Because l genuinely want to find a nice dating partner. l have been on the site about two weeks, although l have found it can be expensive to simply send one message, l tended to make my messages with as much detail as possible, so l didn’t have to send continual short ones. But of course by sending long messages the response l have been getting in return is short and sweet and has no real bearing on any questions l have asked. The fraudsters, as l have now found out are very clever by taking advantage of conversations being exchanged, simply by the fraudster making random comments which you feel the need to answer, so you end up making comments or replies continually and before you know it coins are dispensed, leading you to purchase more coins. l have been an absolute fool, being drawn into such a SCAM, well ladies or whoever you are ‘you ain’t getting no more out of me’ Fellers keep well away, be vigilant, take a wide berth, or you will be conned and keep your hard earned cash in your wallet.

      DITTO!!!

Here’s my last series of messages before I left the site and deleted my profile, to possibly a real woman, but I don’t really think so. I’m writing down my very last conversation to that any other person who looks at this will be able to get some feeling for what the messages back are like:

{starter convo} Her: Hi, I just saw your profile. A 60 year old guy from [country town] is exactly what I’m looking for ;)

ME: [7 messages left] Hi there! *** APOLOGY *** I’ll start off by apologising if I appear rude, impatient or intolerant, that’s because I’ve been cat-fished on this site, so the message count at top of my message is how many I have got left before I leave this site and close my account. *** Right, now that I’ve got that out of the way ***. If you want to talk to me for a couple of messages, I’m fine with that, but by the time the count reaches one, if neither of us have/are willing to either set up a meet for coffee (and nothing else for now), or exchange details, then we can exchange pleasantries, I’ll sign off this site for good and you can continue on and hopefully find happiness. I think men are more susceptible to being cat-fished (just look at that huge SUCKER printed on my forehead) than women, not that I know how many are on this site, however, one woman asked me if I was a cat-fisher whilst I was being caught. *** RANT *** A few of tips for you about this site before we chat: like a lot of things in life, if an offer looks too good to be true, it probably is (hook); they ask you to use this site exclusively to chat (line); excuses, excuses, excuses, missed deadlines, no updated photos (sinker). *** END RANT ***. *** Nicely now *** I’m glad you know where [country town] is, a lot of people (especially in [major city]) ask “Where’s that?”. What exactly are you looking for and why do I fit your comment?

Her: Are you the more dominant part or the more balanced type?… although I am very interested in sex, what kind of guy are you :-) Why don’t you share some of your expectations? Or are you shy?

ME: [6 messages left] SORRY, WRONG ANSWER! Did you even read my message? I know I’m wasting messages, but hey, I’m not buying any more credit to get stung by someone else on this site

Her: What are you trying to say, babe? are you going to be here, or are you leaving soon? I would be sooo happy to get to know you better!!!

ME: [5 messages left] Definitely sounds like bot talk to me. Why would I want to get to know a robot better when I look at [famous website] and [explicit sexual act] all night long?

Her: May I ask a very stupid question? Do you actually separate garbage? No, no, I don’t mean that you sort out stupid women. Hihi oh, you know, actually not important at all, but sometimes I have such funny thoughts in my head. Bad?

ME: [4 messages left] You could well be right! I have picked you out of nearly 300 unique “women” who have messaged me. Just thought I’d try and see if there was still any humanity left on this site

Her: What’s that supposed to mean? We signed up here to chat and now you want us to do it somewhere else or what? I’ll pass, sweetie… We hardly know each other!

ME: [3 messages left] Good for you. Yes we hardly know each other, but I think this site is actually the garbage. I put some effort into sending you the first message with some warning, but you just replied like you were on auto-pilot instead of reading the context of where I am at and asking straight up about sex – hardly know each other indeed, OH PLEASE!!!

Her: I understand where you’re coming from baby, you mean you want us to get off this site?

ME: [2 messages left] Yes, but it may be too late now. Like I said in my first message, I’m not normally as rude or as impatient as I’m making out on this site, but after frittering away $100+ on coins and chats to nowhere, I’m looking at other sites that have subscriptions with unlimited chats, at least then I know how much I’m up for before I meet up with someone.

Her: Dear [user alias], finally a guy to my taste ;-) But now you’re telling me you don’t want to keep chatting with me on here because you won’t buy coins? Got me all riled up just to leave me hanging… You’re not much of a gentleman, are you? Kiss [users name]

ME: [1 message left] Sorry to have popped your balloon [users name], but I’m not a cash machine for this site. One last chance then I’ll say goodbye, either that or you can gift me some coins to show how serious you’d like to continue. Like I said, I’m a decent sort of guy and my late wife always told me that I am a gentleman.

Her: Please don’t say that. You are a very interesting man. That is why I am trying to get to know you here. Do you also find me very interesting?

      ME: You sent a kiss. {yes, they’re about the only free thing on the site!}

ME: [LAST MESSAGE] Yes I find you interesting, but alas this will be our last message. If you want to chat, sign up to [alternate dating site] and look for me there. Message me with your mydates.com handle in the chat and I’ll know it’s you and we can chat to our hearts content. I promise to be more polite (and naughty if you like) there! On [alternate dating site], you’ll find me listed as coming from [another nearby country town] just so you know. ;{)} [user alias]

      {End of messages}

Tried to get me to buy more coins right up to the end.

      Safe travels everyone

This site is a crock of S**T – I started by asking questions that anyone from my city would know and she had no answer, just changed the subject. I even offered 1 girl $50 by Paypal if she called or texted me for real. She wanted to take it slow and ‘cyber’ for a week first. LMAO. I filed a Paypal dispute for the original payment to them and suggest everyone do the same, that is the easiest way to affect their business because Paypal will cut them off after too many chargebacks. I linked this web page to the Paypal dispute and they found it helpful. Take Care Gentlemen.

  26. Not Gullible 30th January 2021 at 6:58 pm - Reply

This is a 100% money fraud scam site. The only good reviews on here are from either the criminals who run the site, bot machines that also send messages on Mydates, or totally stupid gullible people.

The kind of gullible people that if they went for a brain scan, the doctors would be left scratching their heads, because the x ray shows an empty head with no brain inside.

I only joined so I could find out who was running this fraud site, and to get an email address to inform them that I’d reported them for spamming my inbox with unsolicited junk spam mail relentlessly.

I wanted to see just how much of a scam the site was. So I set up my profile as an infamous serial killer, I used the same full name, info, and also his mugshot and photos. He was also in the headline news again recently because he snuffed it.

And yes you guessed it, my inbox was inundated with messages from young beauties wanting to set up a date with him. And in 2 months of being on the site, there hasn’t been one person mention the profile is a notorious mass murderer. That’s despite the fact that many of the messages were from (supposedly) women from the area he killed in, and even the same city as he was born. That just shows what a total scam this Mydates really is.

All the women’s profiles are fake with stolen photos. Right now there are unsuspecting women in relationships, and happily married women with their photos splashed all over dating websites supposedly looking for affairs.

These innocent women have had their photos stolen, and are totally unaware. Do these Mydates and other scam dating sites care about the damage they could do if a partner finds out? I hope these scam dating sites get their ass sued for this big time.

Bot chat machines then bombard men’s inboxes with generic automated messages from these fake profiles. Then scamming mydates staff take over once a gullible sucker has been hooked. The sole intention to get these guys to spend all their hard earned cash on credits for pointless chit chat that’s going nowhere.

Buried in countless terms and conditions, the only clue you get that the site is a scam is this short sentence **Boranu uses professional animators and operators for the entertainment of the Users, who are not identified separately in the system. This Service is provided in the highest quality. Real meetings are not possible with these operators. Users can only send them messages within the portal**

They call this scam chat ‘entertainment’ But I doubt some poor guy being duped into thinking he’s got a potential date, will find it very entertaining whilst he’s been robbed at the same time.

These so called ‘operators’ will be on a bonus. The longer they get you to chat, and buy new credits. The more bonus they’ll get paid for duping you, and stealing your money…..Just let that sink in!

These fraudsters should be shut down, prosecuted, and sent to jail for fraud, money theft, deception, Intellectual property theft, and cyber crime. STAY WELL CLEAR!

Mydates is run by the ‘Boranu Online B.V’ criminal company. They run countless other scam dating sites with different names. Check at the bottom of any dating site you might feel like joining. If you see it’s run by Boranu Online B.V, then get the hell out of there quick.

It is an absolute deception. In two days, 200 women wrote to me. They all resisted personal meetings. He always tries to keep in touch from which there will never be anything. They are stuck herons that only draw money for each message you receive.

The my dates and idates ..I tried this site last year and it didn’t take me long to figure out it was a scam I then decided to give it another go this year and was surprised that it had become much more sophisticated in its operational methods however it still had all the same problems of never giving out phone numbers or email addresses so to me its still a scam which is exactly what it claims to be …a fantasy in its own terms and conditions it says that . Read it thoroughly before parting with any cash . you can have vitual fun if you like but that’s all it will ever be ….there is still a possibility you might meet a genuine user though but the odds on that aren’t very good . they also own your pics and anything you say on the site which could be used by third parties to effectively blackmail one so be very careful what information you give out about yourself . they are free to sell your information too but I suspect they are a lot cleverer than that . there’s real sites that are British based which are a much better bet and you have the law on your side too .

MyDates is a scam and fraud. Some very lovely girls, but when you try to get serious about a date, you’ll get only nonsense answers. Probably there is a man answering the same bullshit for a dozen of girls. Like this one (in Norwegian) I got many times: ‘hei på deg her også ser du men dette er jo kos også se du men dette er jo bra også ser du’. Most likely many fake profiles here. STAY AWAY!!

MyDates is a scam page. The members of ladies will never agree to meet with you and chat with you in another media like Messager, WhatsApp, or WeChat. The members are fake. Could we have FBI to into it?

  41. Nicolas Frischmann 26th September 2020 at 1:42 pm - Reply

It is easy to realize they are fake but when you do realize you are already clean of a few dollars . Before you even build a profile you start getting “likes” visitors and messages . When you run out of “coins” and try to convince the girl to move the conversation to whatsupp she doesn’t agree so you keep spending money ( a lot ) while theoretically she should also spend the same money . The second girl doesn’t agree too and so on ….
Very clever scam benefiting from the stupid and horny male mind

I thought I was in heaven with all these beautiful, interesting women that supposedly saw my profile and took the plunge and contacted me. After many exchanges, I saw the pattern of short answers, that made for rapid coin usage almost like a taxi meter. Trying to contact the women was to no avail s they always had an excuse such as fear, safety, etc. Some were downright insulting and intimidating if you never respond to their chats. I wish I had seen these reviews before I even started with myDates.

So this site may have scammers on it. I too think it is true. I have spoken to a few women who are supposed to be local and have asked them for their mobile numbers. I have given them mine, bit to no avail. I have been ‘ speaking ‘ to one particular woman for about 6 weeks now, and she has my mobile number. I don’t have any credits at the moment and have not for nearly a week. I keep getting a message from her to say that she is worried about me. If she was that worried, why doesn’t she pick the phone up.
I have even put in my profile that I am spoken for, but guess what…………. I am still receiving messages.
This site is an absolute waste of time and money.

I do this for fun as a social experiment. I am a professional developer, i get how it works on computer level. I get into scam schemes, just to see how far people can go, testing the ground of morals here.
Well i would like to note down all the messages 110 of them which i have received from women from all ages from MyDates.com.
But to believe, that everybody just wants to hook up,it is naive, they are using in the same time the real photos of innocent people, this is crime, against other people. I would like to know if those people whose photos are used, do they have any idea they have been exploited :) So today we do not have real dating, we have animators, and companies and beautiful girls, pretending to have some issues and then they ask you to put the money on their PCS cards. What world we are living in?

On the surface MyDates is a little more believable in that the photos of the women are fairly normal as opposed to other sites where the photos appear to have been sourced from porn sites BUT I was constantly harassed with plaintive messages saying “why don’t you answer?”. Well, because I could smell a rather large and unsavoury Dutch rat so I wasn’t going to buy “coins” just to talk to fake operators some of whom are clearly dumb-arses to boot. For instance, one message I received said “I only came on here for a quick look but then I saw your photo and was smitten.” Reallly?? I ain’t got a photo! Fake, fake, fake.

I signed up to this site at the weekend having been scammed by another site operated by this Netherlands firm, MYSECRETCHAT.COM. I hadn’t realised they were connected until I became suspicious of a reply from a potential date which was identical to a reply I’d received from mysecretchat.com so I Googled “how to check dating sites” and was presented with your site from where I realised both dating sites were controlled from the netherlands company. It seems that no one such as Governments or Police can/are doing anything to close this company down, I think it’s time an organisation with access to industrial Semtex removed this company and its staff by blowing it off the planet. All they are causing is financial grief to every person who signs up. I wonder how many poor souls have taken their own lives because of massive debts incurred though this fraudulent organisation. As I’ve already said, some industrial Semtex should provide a positive result. I may even consider holidaying in the Netherlands when Covid 19 is on the decline

Big SCAM… the women not only avoid the true discussion but developp the chat in many direction in order to neglect how easy the money flew. When I asked them if 8s worthy to pay for.each message 1 euro instead to meet and find real pwrson they said they also pay for message and even during night they stay till the sunrise… eagerly to find the match of their dream hahahaha soap opera . They trainthemselvea to prolonge the chat.for the profit. Ok its a flirt site but is a.scam.because there is no date ever and each stupid message in vain is more.than an euro.
