Although the photos on the landing page were different from other pages from the same company, the interface is always the same. Therefore, we recognized instantly that this website belongs to VodFun Limited. Like all the dating websites from this company, OlderShags.com is a scam. They use fake chats and fake chat operators employed by the company.

The company behind this rip-off is VodFun Limited, based in Douglas, Isle of Man. They use similar kinds of scams on all their websites that we have reviewed. The main difference between the sites is just that they cater to different audiences. All the rest, including the fake chat operators and fake chats, remains the same.

Company with a bad reputation

We have reviewed some other sites from the same company in the past. All of them are extremely similar. They just focus on different segments of potential customers but always operate similarly. Unfortunately, all the websites we reviewed turned out to be a scam. Most of them even use precisely the same kind of rip-off.

The company explains in their terms and conditions that, sometimes, some company employees may create some test dating profiles. They affirm that the only purpose of these profiles is to check if the page is working properly, to make sure that they deliver a quality service to the users.

Unfortunately, what the company says is not true. We cannot say that these profiles do not test functionalities. Maybe they do so. But they are also there to send tempting messages to new users. They aim to get their interest and encourage them to subscribe to a paid membership. Paid memberships are necessary for anything on this website. Without them, users will not be able to read or write messages. Without a paid subscription, customers will only see a blurred message.

Difficult cancellation

Furthermore, the prices are certainly not cheap. A one-month subscription costs between 20 to 40USD, depending on the length of the subscription. But apart from being expensive, these subscriptions may also be dangerous and become a subscription rip-off. The cancellation policy is extremely confusing and unclear. It seems that it has been written in such a way that customers may not understand how to proceed if they want to cancel. Presenting important information in such a confusing way may not be a scam, but is definitely irritating and not a good sign.
